I am sorry you didn't grasp the essence of my post. Therefore, I am disappointed you could not embrace the reality of the situation and answer accordingly. CM
PS. What you are glad about, the feeling is mutual. Blessed day! I will see how @reformed addresses the matter, given that the two of you are not brothers (blood). CM

I got the essence alright and nearly puked. What part of “murder” do you not understand?
i know little about Reformed. Haven’t looked up his posts.
-
So when, pray tell, does it "become" a baby?
-
-
That was a pretty straightforward question. When does the "fetus" become a baby? When does it become a human being?

Abortion
We believe that human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, unexcused taking of unborn human life. Abortion is murder. We reject any teaching that abortions due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender selection, birth or population control, or the physical or mental well-being of the mother are acceptable. (Job 3:16; Ps. 51:5; 139:14-16; Isa. 44:24; 49:1, 5; Jer. 1:5; 20:15-18; Luke 1:44)

I respect your views as reported in this statement; thank you for sharing.
I found this exact statement on numerous websites, most belonging to local churches of various denominational traditions. But interestingly, at least in my search, none of the churches, colleges, et al that publish the statement as their own credit its original source. Do you know what person, group, or body authored the original statement, which then others adopted?
-
What interests me is the content. Regardless of the source it is worth reposting.
@Bill_Coley How do you respond to the fundamental message of the content and Scriptural support for it?
-
I don't think I'm going to get an answer to the question I asked in my previous from the poster to whom I posed it, so I open the matter to anyone and everyone: I'm curious about the source of the following position statement on the issue of abortion, one used by many churches, according to my Google search....
I respect the point of view expressed by this statement and have no interest in the statement's source other than the satisfaction of my curiosity. So if you know the source, or if your Google searches about it are more productive than mine, I hope you'll share.
-
The original source remains unclear. It may be unknown or anonymous. Many people use the statement because it is biblical, true, well-written, and has proper references.
You certainly don't have to answer but I ask again:
You may respect the content, but what do you think of it?
What do you think of the Scriptural support for it?
If you have no interest in the content or Scriptures, I respect that. I have no interest in your answer other than the satisfaction of my curiosity.

I believe our church got it from a template from the Christian Law Association.
