NRA acknowledges accepting more than 20 Russia-linked contributions since 2016 campaign

The National Rifle Association is once again backtracking on the number of Russia-linked contributions it has accepted since the 2016 campaign.

The powerful gun lobby acknowledged Wednesday that it has accepted payments from "about" 23 Russia-linked individuals since 2015, sharply diverging from its previous assessments.

The NRA said last month that it had only received a single donation from a Russia-linked individual since 2012. The reason for the discrepancy was not immediately clear, and representatives for the gun group did not return requests for comment from the Daily News.

Majority of U.S. voters prefer anti-gun protesters over NRA: poll

The NRA has come under scrutiny since it was revealed earlier this year that the FBI is looking into whether Russian operatives pumped money into the gun group's coffers in an effort to boost President Trump's 2016 campaign.

All well-meaning, Amerian Christians MUST leave the NRA immediately and repudiate this organization. I said it before, there was NRA, TRUMP AND RUSSIA connection. Dirty Hands, Dirty Money! Need I say more? CM

13 Billboards Call Out How Much Money Politicians Got From The NRA

The campaign was launched by the parents of a victim of the Aurora, Colorado, theater massacre.

    MORE DIRTY MONEY

On the 19th anniversary of the Columbine High School mass shooting in Littleton, Colorado, billboards posted on roadsides across the country let local residents know how much money their lawmakers have accepted from the National Rifle Association.

On Friday, grassroots gun reform group Survivors Empowered launched a campaign called “30 Billboards Outside Cowardly Incumbents,” inspired by the movie “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.” The group bought ad space on 13 billboards in nine states, from California to Iowa to Alabama, and are fundraising for 17 more. Each sign lists the name of a local member of Congress and how much money they’ve received from the gun lobby group.

The campaign is meant to highlight the influence of the gun lobby on lawmakers and put pressure on members of Congress to cut ties with the NRA and pass gun control legislation.

The NRA spends millions each year on lobbying and campaigns in an effort to get pro-gun lawmakers elected and gun control legislation blocked. In 2016, the NRA invested $30 million in Trump’s presidential campaign and at least $20 million in GOP Senate campaigns, according to an audit obtained by the Center for Responsive Politics.

“Many Americans really don’t understand how the NRA works and controls politicians. People ask how come they won’t stand up and do something. Well, because the NRA is in their pockets,” said Survivors Empowered founder Sandy Phillips, whose 24-year-old daughter was killed in the 2012 mass shooting in a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado.

“We’re not afraid of the NRA,” she added. “What can they take from us? They’ve already taken our daughter.”

Have the NRA no Shame? CM

    NRA is going down!

Amanda Gailey, also a UNL professor, and Catherine Koebel, a biologist, are co-founders of activist group The Great American Gun Melt. They have kept their protests to holding signs and handing out flyers, and told the Post that police confirmed their protest was legal.

...Gailey and Koebel said their aim is to introduce a more radical, further-left approach to gun control activism, and to shame Cox in his own home, rather than at NRA headquarters, where he could easily ignore it, according to The Washington Post.

Betsy Riot, an anonymous activist group who has taken responsibility for creating the anti-Cox website, told the Post that the gun-control movement has “needed a left flank for decades.”

The NRA has been the target of protests and boycotts for years, but the anti-gun movement has ramped up its actions in recent months, following the deadly mass shooting at a Parkland, Fla., high school in February, which pressured dozens of companies and organizations into cutting ties with the gun group.

Teachers' union cuts ties with Wells Fargo over NRA support

Glory to God! Teacher's Union have more heart and love than many who called themselves Christians? If Christ were on the earth in the flesh, He wouldn't own a gun and He would be against the NRA! What do you say? CM

After Parkland shooting, NRA posts biggest fundraising haul in nearly 20 years.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com

The National Rifle Association's Political Victory Fund raised $2.4 million in donations in March, setting a 21st-century record for the group in the month after a gunman killed 17 students and educators at a high school in Parkland, Fla.

The unprecedented haul came as gun-control advocates, led by student survivors of the shooting,...

The NRA has no shame! Why are Christians still affiliated with them? The NRA raised funds on dead students, family griefs, and pain. It's blood-money. This is a new low. I wonder how much they are going to get off the Waffle House Murders? This seems to be a game and a lucrative business. Mass Shooting seems to be the NRA "Golden Goose." This seems to explain why they don't want checks/balances of firearms and fights against "common sense" Gun Laws. They cowardly hide behind the skirt of the Second Amendment, when money and power are their real reasons for existence. CM

Why are Christians still affiliated with them? I think Churches have gutted the NT of Christian ethics and replaced them with traditions. Just as the Pharisees did. Dispensationalists especially since the time Scofield said the Sermon on the Mount is not for the Church. But for the Jews in the Millennium. (Scofield bible notes on Mt 5:2-12).

Many of these churches turn sin into dancing, smoking, going to movies, and drinking. And righteousness into not doing these things. Also Patriotism = righteousness. Questioning things = sin. Of course this is a slight over simplification but essentially holds true.
