We can both argue the decay rate of raw meat. But I'll bet you won't eat anything that has been unrefrigerated for 72 hours. And if Lazarus's body emitted foul odor in 4 days, it is safe to say it didn't wait that long.

I recall pointing out serious errors in the Scofield notes on both Matthew 4:17 and Matthew 5.

I think the following statement on the trinity speaks volumes.
THE SECOND HELVETIC CONFESSION
CHAPTER III
Of God, His Unity and Trinity
GOD IS ONE. We believe and teach that God is one in essence or nature, subsi…

Are you using the original Scofield Bible. Notes on Matthew 4:17? Mine says Note 3: ‘At hand’ is never a positive affirmation that the person or thing said to be ‘at hand’ will immediately appear, but only that no known or predicted ev…

There's only 1 second difference between 4 days and 3 days. Would you feed your family on beef that went unrefrigerated for 72 hours? What would any Health Department think of an establishment such as this?
Why do people have t…

The most obvious is the unbelieving Jews who rejected Jesus as the Messiah. Another would be Scofield saying God postponed the Kingdom when Scripture clearly shows it is here. “From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has…

There are too many reasons why you are wrong. Everything from Lazarus's body emitting a foul odor in 4 days time before Jesus raised him from the dead. To Jonah's supernatural preservation in the belly of the whale by God, that Jesus u…

Not at all. Jesus was God as far as his person. With a fully human nature and a fully divine nature. You are making him out to be a sinner if you think his body did not decay only because of time. And worse, you are reading into Peter'…

If Jesus, a NT writer, or an Apostle says a certain prophecy is fulfilled, or will be fulfilled within certain constraints, I do not look for a future fulfillment beyond the constraints. Can we remain true to the Word if we read into i…

I believe Einstein nailed it when he said: "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough."

I believe just as we have four gospels that provide a clearer understanding when combined, many translations provide a fuller view.

This is fine, but I am pointing out we need to apply ourselves to speaking at street level to our audiences.

This is why I don't consider them cults. But all man made church organizations suffer entropy.

I believe Jesus gives credibility to using translations above the closest thing we have to an original text. As I've always said, I interpret the OT through the NT writers who interpret it for me. And I don't form any hard fast conclus…

As I said, there are too many to list. In fear of omitting some I decline from listing any. I mentioned three generally accepted works that identify cults as any who reject the trinity and deity of Christ doctrines as spelled out in th…

Luther on the benefit of learning ancient greek, Aramaic or Hebrew has nothing to do with learning to speak the vulgar tongue of those to whom we are to preach.

Even if Jesus did not quote from the LXX, he still included it in his inspired NT Canon.

I would say Jesus' approval of the the LXX by including portions of it into the inspired NT text speaks volumes about the legitimacy of other translations.

There are too many to list that I do not think are cults. But I believe any group that rejects the ecumenical creeds are cults. I use the three standard works mentioned earlier as documentation.

You will never understand the Spiritual things of God when you limit yourself to thinking only in physical material ways.
But we still do not know which scriptures Jesus used or preferred. He does however lend credibility to the LXX by quoting it. As do the NT writers.
Jesus' command to preach the gospel to the whole world involves learning the vulgar language of each. It says nothing about learning Greek, or Hebrew.
