2,000 years ago, Jesus was a Carpenter, helping his family eke out a living. His First Presence was foretold by the Prophet Daniel and the ‘allotted timing’ of that Prophecy was rapidly coming to its conclusion of which, the fulfillment of the 70th week would begin in the fall of 29 CE, the Messiah would suddenly come to inspect the temple. In just a few years, he would approach his senior cousin of six months for baptism to commence his earthy ministry.

“Behold, I send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me; and the Lord whom ye seek will suddenly come to his temple, and the Angel of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he cometh, saith Jehovah of hosts.” (Malachi 3:1)

On finding the temple lacking, Jesus Christ prophesied the temple would be destroyed on more than one occasion. Jesus replied to them: “Tear down this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” (John 2:19) They sneered and mocked him for saying such a thing and therefore, the ridiculers were struck with blindness in understanding by their hard heartedness. For almost 2,000 years now, Jesus Christ has been raising up the temple since Pentecost 33 CE. Most cannot see, for such ones as unbelievers are not allowed understanding.

The teaching of literal hellfire torment is commonplace in Christendom and non-Christian religions. This teaching defames the Creator and portrays him as a sadist who tortures people in literal flames of fire for all eternity—as punishment for wrongdoings committed during the relatively brief human lifespan.

Hellfire believers insist that the wicked will literally experience pain while burning in literal flames of fire—after they have died. So that brings us to the questions below.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

1. Are there are scriptures in the Judeo-Christian Bible to support the teaching of literal hellfire torment? If you believe that to be the case, please quote up to three (3) scriptures and include Bible book, chapter, and verse, along with a brief explanation for why you believe the verses are talking LITERAL hellfire torment.

2. According to those who believe in literal hellfire torment, only wicked people will wind up in hell. Is that what you believe?

3. Does the Bible teach that humans have an immortal soul that survives the death of the person so that the soul can then be burned in eternal flames? If so, please present scriptures to that effect to prove it (no more than 3 scriptures at a time, please). Follow the steps indicated at Question #1.

4. When people are being tortured in hellfire, wouldn't they have to KNOW or be conscious/aware of the fact that they are being burned? I mean to say, what's the point of punishing people in a burning hellfire if they aren't even aware?

5. Those who believe in literal eternal torment say that the person's soul is being burned forever. What is the soul? Are animals souls also, or does the term "soul" apply only to humans?

NeutralZone

Why is the Greek word for trinity not found in scripture?

Questions trinitarians cannot answer. How come Jesus Christ is NEVER mentioned in the trinity doctrine?

The Answer May Surprise You! The screen shots below give you some very strong evidence that is undeniable. Even when you use various languages for Jehovah, all language transliterations go back to the Hebrew Tetragrammation יהוה – as you can SEE. The ‘truth’ is so simple isn’t it? Will they repent to keep on living or will their pride bring them down to the valley of hinnom of everlasting destruction?

If you haven't gained understanding of Matthew 24:3, you are not alone. Jesus Christ response to the question of 'when' was, "Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father." (Matthew24:36) This Greek Word parousia literally means 'being alongside' and alludes to Christ's Presence covering a period of time as to “the Days of Noah Before the Flood would occur.” Jesus compared this specific time period to “the Presence of the Son of man” at (Matthew 24:37).

The Question the four disciples put to Jesus was in two parts. One, to His Presence which he did not know personally. And second, to the conclusion of the system of things of which he answered, "Look out that nobody misleads you.. You are going to hear of wars and reports of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for these things must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress." (Matthew 24:4-8)

WTS quote - (Bible Examiner) - In the year 1876 the twenty-four-year-old Russell made a contribution on the subject to this magazine. It was published in Volume XXI, Number 1, which was the issue of October, 1876. On pages 27, 28 of that issue Russell’s article was published under the title “Gentile Times: When Do They End?” In that article (page 27) Russell said: “The seven times will end in A.D. 1914.”- End of WTS Quote.

Brother Russell wrote: "'The Earth Abideth Forever' Christ will not return to Earth as a Man - Present Year Believed to Mark Great Change of Dispensation, but World May not discern Immediate Difference." The Bible Students Monthly, January, 1914.

"Our Lord, in describing His Second Presence, clearly indicated that it would be unnoticed by the world until the cataclysm of trouble should come. Thus He likened the earlier days of His presence to that period before the Flood, when the world, unconscious of the impending catastrophe, continued to build, eat and drink as usual, and knew not. So, says the Master, it will be in the end of this Age. Eating, drinking, building, planting and marrying will proceed as usual; and the world will not know that they are in the PRESENCE of the Son of Man."

He continues, "The Bible nowhere tells that Jesus took the human nature to keep it forever, and to return with it to Heaven, where it would be completely out of order and out of place. The Bible teaches, on the contrary, that "flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God" (1 Cor 15:50); and that Jesus was made flesh merely 'that He, by the grace of God, should taste death for every man' (Heb 2:9) and that after doing this work He would "ascend up where He was before." (John 6:62) The great Day of Trouble, noted throughout the Scriptures as the Time of Trouble such as never was since there was a nation, will come upon them suddenly." (Matthew 24:21)

"Then, later on, will come the Epiphania; that is to say, the revelation, or manifestation, of the present One. This will not be a manifestation in the flesh, but in a great Time of Trouble, symbolically represented as fire, as when we read, "He shall be revealed in flaming fire, taking vengeance." -- 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10.

International Bible Students Association: "Nevertheless, when viewed from God’s standpoint, we are still “shortly after” 1914. Although Russell himself did not think the time of trouble would be this long, he did allow that it could be. It is possible that the time allotted for this period is 120 years (1914+120=2034), but that these days will be “cut short” some time before they are allowed to reach their end. We do not put this forth as a “prophecy”, nor would we feel anything was wrong if 2034 came and went and nothing had happened as far the full binding of Satan and the destruction of his empire is concerned. All things are in God’s hands."

We are now fast approaching the second part of the Question Of Matthew 24:3 "... and of the conclusion of the system of things?"

The great day of Jehovah is near!
For almost two thousand years, false religion have kept 'the truth' hidden from the many and now are losing their battle against the Lamb! True Christians are on the march in this dark world, allowing 'the truth' to shine forth. Jesus Christ shared with his followers, "People light a lamp and set it, not under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it shines on all those in the house." (Matthew 5:15)

Christendom's Bible Scholars are among the most dishonest individuals on earth. They have been hiding 'the truth' from the many and now since the light is exposing them, they run to the mountains begging, "Fall over us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb," (Rev 6:16)

There are Superlative titles that apply to the one true God Jehovah and Jehovah alone.

Adonay

Theon

Adonay in Hebrew Script is spelled אֲדֹנָי and was used in replacing יהוה the four Hebrew letters usually transliterated YHWH or JHVH that form the Biblical Proper Name of God. Yahweh or Jehovah. The title Adonay has Superlative meaning and which it only applies to the Supreme One or Self-Existent One. Jehovah alone is most high and there is no other.

May people know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth. (Psalms 83:18)

You are my witnesses,” declares Jehovah, “Yes, my servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and have faith in me And understand that I am the same One. Before me no God was formed, And after me there has been none. (Isaiah 43:10)

Adonay and Aăḏōwn spelled אֲד֖וֹן were used but then watered down by trinitarian translators using non-superlative titles such as Adonai ("My Lord") or Elohim (literally means 'gods' but treated as singular when meaning "God") in prayer, or HaShem ("The Name") in everyday speech. A popular expression containing this phrase is Baruch HaShem, meaning "Thank God" (literally meaning "Blessed or Praised be the Name") as in "Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for according to his great mercy he gave us a new birth to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead," (1 Peter 1:3) Adonai and Elohim are non-superlative titles and often applied to angels and men and are not exclusive. Moses himself was called elohim or the Greek term theos.

The Greek term (theon) spelled θεόν is also a Superlative title referring to the one true God Jehovah and Jehovah alone. It occurs 148 times in the NT Greek Scriptures. When finding θεόν in a Greek scripture, one can replace it with Jehovah for a deeper understanding of God's Word.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Jehovah, and the Word was a god."(John 1:1)

No man has seen Jehovah at any time; the only-begotten god who is at the Father’s side is the one who has explained Him. (John 1:18)

Many other scriptures you can look up yourself if you would like to. Here's another example:

Englishman's Concordance

θεόν (theon) — 148 Occurrences

Matthew 4:7 N-AMS

GRK: Κύριον τὸν θεόν σου

NAS: THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.'

Jesus said to him: “Again it is written: ‘You must not put Jehovah your God to the test. (Mathew 4:7) Notice Jesus quotes the Hebrew OT with God's Name in it which under inspiration states “You must not put Jehovah your God to the test the way you put him to the test at Massah." (Deuteronomy 6:16) Also, another reference to God's Name in Greek Scriptures is @ Lu 4:12.

The second Greek word for God is (theos) spelled θεός in Greek. This title is non-superlative and can be applied to Jehovah, Jesus Christ, angels, men, and idols alike. In prayer, Jesus invokes the Superlative title θεόν (theon) to his Father by stating, "You, the only true God" at (John 17:3) Jesus Christ is never referred to θεόν (theon). Therefore, when Jesus Christ stated, "the Father is Greater than I am" (John 14:28) Jesus was stating an absolute truth.

I hope this Biblical Information helps you to break free from amongst the false religions that has entangled humankind with such hatred against one another. Religion will soon be Destroyed. And I heard another voice out of heaven say: “Get out of her, my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues."

“And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.” (Rev 20:13)

My Story

What is it like to die?

I first learned about death through a Bible Study. After learning the truth about death and that death is the last enemy that will be conquered, I wanted to learn more. Here’s a few scriptures that may give you some Relief and Comfort.

“For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all, nor do they have any more reward, because all memory of them is forgotten.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5)

My Catholic upbringing always taught me that hell was an eternal place of torment and inescapable. This religious teaching never sat well with me. I could never figure out why the God of Love would do such a thing.

Then at my Bible Study, I came across this scripture, “hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.” (Rev 20:13) This blew my mind because it connected the dots for me. See, the priests would take money from the parishioners to pray for their dead loved ones, telling us this might get them out of hell. All the while, preaching that hell is ETERNAL. Did they know something I didn’t, I wondered? This was nothing but a ponzi scheme.

Other scriptures that gave me Relief and Comfort is the good news about the Resurrection. “And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Acts 24:15) I was elated to learn this about my loved ones that have passed in death.

Then Jesus Christ told his followers, “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out” (John 5:28)

I stated I'm a former witness, but that may not be completely true since I was not disfellowshipped but just quit going to meetings over 40 years ago. I have found that vast majority of people that left were disfellowshipped or knew they were going to be for various reasons. When I left there were a number of things I was discouraged about, but nothing doctrinally. To explain it in detail would take a couple pages. I did go back a few years ago for a few months but found it different than what I remembered. When I was attending meetings about 60% of the congregation I was in were in their 20's. Vibrant, full of energy, and we had a lot of fellowship with each other, but the congregation I went to were about 70% old folks, like me, and I never felt at home there. Maybe it was because they knew I had not attended for 40 years and were suspicious. If so I don't blame them. I now find it hard to believe they are the "only ones" if you know what I mean.

Thank you for sharing. My journey toward Being Holy as God is Holy has felt like a roller coaster ride having many ups & downs with magnificent Holy Highs intermixed with discouraging/depressing down times.

Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) published 2022 American survey results on 16 May 2023 => Religion and Congregations in a Time of Social and Political Upheaval that includes 56 % of All Americans attending religious services at least a few times a year in 2013 dropped to 43 % in 2022. Some for a number of years. Some had great speakers, one in particular had a great pastor and a couple had great music that could move you, but I always found them lacking in the truth. Every once in a while I will go on a site such as this to see if I can find someone that can refute their teachings of the trinity, hell, Jesus bodily resurrection, etc., but to no avail. Each time I do I'm always more convinced in the Witness teaching than before. Yet, I know the everything about them, so I know they're not perfect in their teaching. I'm in quite a quandary and have been for many years.

What are Watchtower Society teaching fallacies ?

Watchtower Society teaching of Jesus = Michael the Archangel is puzzling/perplexing to me. My understanding is Watchtower Society teaching that Michael's life force was transferred into the human baby of Jesus. Electricity description of life force says nothing identifiable as Michael went into the human body of Jesus. Hence, the Watchtower Society teaching of Jesus = Michael the Archangel makes no sense to me: no reason to believe that an Archangel became Jesus. Related puzzle is what happened to Archangel Michael when life force was transferred. Does Michael the Archangel have pre-Jesus & post-Jesus incarnations ?

To me, Watchtower Society teaching has two deities: God the Father & a god Michael the Archangel (as the man Jesus).

The name "Michael" means "Who is like God ?" that is different than words of Jesus in John 17, who experienced being by the glorious side of God the Father & Loved before the foundation of the world.

John 17:1-26 LEB (with Hebrew word usually translated by Jewish scholars in LXX: אלהים as God) =>

Jesus said these things, and lifting up his eyes to heaven he said, “Father, the hour has come! Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true אלהים God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. I have glorified you on earth by completing the work that you have given me to do. And now, Father, you glorify me at your side with the glory that I had at your side before the world existed. “I have revealed your name to the men whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours, and you have given them to me, and they have kept your word. And now I am coming to you, and I am saying these things in the world so that they may have my joy completed in themselves. I have given them your word, and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world just as I am not of the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth — your word is truth. Just as you sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.

On December 19, the small group Bible study I lead completed what turned out to be a 110 session, nearly 2-1/2 year review of the New Testament's witness as to the question of whether Jesus was God. In total, we examined approximately 450 passages comprising more than 40% of all the verses of the NT.

The concluding session of our NT review on Sunday contained something of a mid-season assessment of our discoveries to-date (we'll launch a review of 125-150 OT passages in January). The consensus view of those present distinguished between Jesus the human being and Jesus the resurrected, glorified one who sits at the right hand of God. No one believed the NT teaches that Jesus was God while on earth. Instead, group members said, the NT makes a clear distinction between God and the person Jesus through whom God worked.

On the other side of the resurrection Jesus was no longer a human being, but rather the one raised by God to a unique and eternal position of authority. Even in such exalted state, however, according to the mid-season view of group members, Jesus wasn't God's equal, but rather one elevated above everyone and everything other than God.

Study participants expressed unresolved questions after their first 110 hours of discussion - for example, about the verses and passages in the NT that declare the pre-existence of Jesus - and welcomed such an inconclusive status. In fact, throughout our journey I've quasi-demanded that the group not reach any definitive conclusions about our core question until we've completed our biblical review. Hence, yesterday's observations were clearly interim, not final, in nature.

The group member who came into the study with Christological views most inline with Trinitarian theology voiced the most obvious change of position. In the early months of our study, he spoke clearly and with authenticity about Jesus as God. He now believes Jesus was not God, but was a human on earth, but also (somehow) the one through whom God created everything (the pre-existence material) and the one who now reigns with God, just below God in eternal authority.

You might want to credit/blame me as the group's leader and the church's pastor for both that gentleman's change of views and the group's consensus opinion. The truth is not once have I declared to the group my views on the question, I have assiduously avoided drawing broad conclusions from the texts we've reviewed, and I have made every effort to point out the verses/passages the various sides of the debate rely on to support their views. Hence, the biblical text and our group's very active discussion of it have most affected his views, not I.

You may strongly disagree with my Christology; if you do, I respect your views and celebrate the faith that undergirds them. But I hope you will celebrate with me the good news of a group of lay Christians investing 2-1/2 years of study (so far) in intentional Bible study on such a specific and profound matter.

I will soon post a link to the OT texts we will review in the next phase of our study. Thanks again to those who responded in another thread to my request for suggested texts.

Isa 8:20 (NIV): "To the law and to the testimony!" This is a verse often read but seldom understood. Although the Book of Isaiah was written in "the year King Uzziah died" (Isa 6:1), the prophet was young. The year was 740 B.C. when King Ahaz ruled (735-716 B.C.). In light of this, is the verse relevant to the serious Bible student today? CM

Today, some Bible teachers debate whether Adam and Eve are the parents of us all. The Bible indicates several things: 1. Adam was the first man, 2. Eve was the first woman, 3. All mankind descends from them.

The Bible states in 1 Corinthians 15:45 “the first man Adam was made a living soul,” and, in the genealogy of Christ, It refers to Adam as the son of God (Luke 3:38). These statements show that Adam was the first man, but was Eve the first woman? In the garden, Adam was the only human living (Gen. 2:18), so God chose to create a help meet for him (Gen. 2:18). While Adam slept, God formed a woman from one of Adam’s ribs (Gen 2:22). Adam called his wife Woman “because she was taken out of Man” (Gen. 2:23).

We have seen that Adam and Eve were the first man and woman, but were there more people in the garden? Since Adam had been alone and Eve became “the mother of all living” (Gen. 3:20), we can conclude that there were no other people in the garden from whom we might have descended. Furthermore, God implies all women are the daughters of Eve (1 Timothy 2:9-15) and that all people descended from Adam (1 Cor. 15:22, 2 Chr. 25:4 ). We are all “of one blood” (Acts 17:26).

Did God use evolution to create man? Man could not be formed by evolution because evolution uses death. In Romans 5:12 and 1 Corinthians 15:22, God clearly states that death came through sin, and sin came through man. Additionally, mutations would not provide a good vehicle for evolution since they tend to be harmful, not beneficial (e.g. cancer, protein dysfunctionality, etc.). Even the time period of creation does not allow for evolution: “And the evening and the morning were the sixth day” (Gen. 1:31).

“Why is all this important?” you might ask. Here are several reasons. First, special creation shows that God is a good Creator. He did not use death and suffering when He formed man. Instead, God breathed the breath of life into him. (He even got Adam in on the action when He took Adam’s rib!) God’s creation was surely very good! Second, we see that all men have the image of God. If we were to suppose that some humans were not created in the image of God (as Adam’s descendants), we might not treat them according to the Golden Rule. Sadly, we have seen humans stripped of their dignity in our past. Third, the Bible does not appear to contradict itself when Adam is referred to as a real man. The doctrine of inerrancy is thus bolstered in our minds. Last, all men have the opportunity to accept Christ (2 Pet. 3:9, Jn. 3:16, Tit. 2:11, 1 Cor. 15:22).

"For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Rom. 10:12-13).

This phrase appears in the book of Daniel and a similar one ("The time of the end"), what do they mean? Are the events in Daniel's time and/or beyond his time? The four major schools of interpretation to unpack these events:

1. Historical-critical -- Interpreters who do not consider the book of Daniel as true prophecy written in the sixth century B.C. by Daniel. It sees the book of Daniel as a situation of the Jewish people under the persecution of Antiochus IV Epiphanes.

2. Preterist -- Limit the fulfillment of its prophecies to the time period from the time of Daniel (6 century B.C. to Christ's first coming or to the end of the Roman Empire.

3. Historicists -- The school of interpreters. It views Daniel as the author of the book. prophecies of Daniel cover the entire historical period from Daniel’s days to the final eschaton without any gap or interruption.

4. Futurist-dispensational -- accept Daniel’s authorship of the book in the sixth century B.C. They expect that in the future a personal Antichrist will appear who will fulfill what is said of the Little Horn in Dan 7 and of the king of the North in Dan 11:36-45.

This school is divided into two groups:

Those who believe that there is a gap in the fulfillment of the prophecies of Daniel from the first coming of Christ to seven years before his second coming (Dispensationalists).

Those who think that from the destruction of the Roman Empire (the fourth beast in Dan 7:8) to the appearance of the Little Horn (the Antichrist) there will be a number of kingdoms (the ten horns) which are successors to the Roman Empire (Futurists).

At times, there is some overlapping. For example: Preterists, Futurists, and Historicists all believe that the author of Daniel lived in the sixth century.

Historical-critical scholars do not.

Preterists, Futurists, and Historical-critical scholars all apply Daniel 8 to Antiochus IV Epiphanes. Historicistsgenerally do not.

The phrase "Latter Days" refer to different periods in the history of Israel (endtime) in the OT:

“Eschatological” (“doctrine of the last things”) e.g., Deut 4:30; Jer 23:20; 30:24.

Others are NOT, e.g., Deut 31:29; Jer 48:47; 49:39

Let’s be clear: "Eschatology” can be view as:

Narrowly: The end of history and the beginning of the time of eternal salvation.

Broadly: "To a future in which the circumstances of history are changed to such an extent that one can speak of a new, entirely different, state of things without, in doing so, necessarily leaving the framework of history". [Th. C. Vriezen,"Prophecy and Eschatology," VT, Sup 1 (1953): 223].

"Latter Days" of Dan. 10:14 and "Latter Days" of Dan. 2:28 [distant future] are the same. Both phrases refer to the future which began in the time of Daniel and which reaches down to the time of the Messianic kingdom. "The time of the end" in Dan 8:17; 11:35,40; and 12:4,9, are the same. Some see these phrases to mean:

1. The time of Antiochus IV Epiphanes (175-164 B.C.) and his attacks on the religion of the Jews.

2. Before the second coming of Christ.

3. A dual-fulfillment sees both events contained in the prophecy.

The questions are, the phrase, "Latter Days" does it means:

First or the second appearance of the Messiah?

The future in general, or

Does it refer to both?

In the NT, "the last days" are placed in a basic or natural Christological setting and the expression becomes an idiom for the Messianic or Christian age (Acts 2:17; Heb 1:2).

Extra-biblical information of the two phrases, "the latter days" and "the time of the end" can contribute to understanding of these expressions in the book of Daniel and in the OT.

Bring further enlightenment to the subject matter. CM

Sources:

S.
Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians who accepted the 'Blood of Christ' for salvation.

Given that non-trinitarians have relegated Jesus to a created being, an angel or some kind of lieutenant God, given certain powers to save mankind, one wonders, what is their view of the Holy Spirit? Better yet, what does the Bible teaches about the Holy Spirit? What is said of the Spirit's nature, character, role, existence, power, and relationship to the Father and the Son? Is the Holy (ghost) Spirit God? Does the Bible teach that the Spirit should be understood to be an influence or Heavenly force? What are the true teachings? Should we pray to the Spirit? What are the biblical manifestations of the Spirit at creation and among men? These and other questions need to be asked to further understand God through His revealed Word. CM

What does it mean? Jesus replied to the thief “Truly I tell you today, you will be with me in Paradise.” (Luke 23:43) The Apostle Paul explains that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. (Acts 24:15) Since no unrighteous individuals are allowed entry to Heaven. Both Jesus and Paul were speaking about an Earthly Paradise.

False Religion and her minions reject "Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures;  and that he was buried, yes, that he was raised up on the third day according to the Scriptures;" (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) Nobody is resurrected from Heaven to be on the earth. Notice Jesus never stated you will be with me in Heaven as oppossers of the Jesus Christ claim. Romans 10:9 states if you publicly declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and exercise faith in your heart that God raised him up from the dead, You will be saved.

Why is such a simple message often reected by false religion? Many translations place a comma before the word “today” and thereby giving the impression that both Jesus and the evildoer both entered into Heaven that very same day. Jesus himself was dead and in the tomb until the third day and was then resurrected as “the firstfruits” of the first resurrection. The scriptures state that Jesus ascended to Heaven after 40 days after his resurrection. Where was he during those 40 days? Since Jesus sacrificed his fleshly body once for all time, he manifested and taught his disiples in different fleshly bodies her on earth about God's Kingdom. (Acts 1:3-11)

The scriptures state after he had suffered, he showed himself alive to them (how?) by many convincing proofs. He was Seen by them throughout 40 days, and he was speaking about the Kingdom of God." (Acts 1:3) Just think, after spending 40 days with his disciples in different bodies, he still showed himself ALIVE by Many Convining Proofs. Something he would have no need to do, if he was resurrected in his own body.

When you think of it. Even when Jesus appeared to his disicples a second time as a group, this time with Thomas. They saw a man standing in their midst saying 'May you have peace'. None of them exclaimed, there he is.... JESUS! This is because the did not know who this man was. But then Jesus says to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and see my hands, and take your hand and stick it into my side, and stop doubting but believe." (John 20:27)

What was different with this specific mafifesting than others? This time was the only time he manifested with wounds. See, if Jesus manifested in his own body, even without wounds, his disiples would have surely knew who he was. But, because he was in a different body yet again notice what Thomas' response was,“My Lord and my God! (Johm 20:28)

When a person performs a certain feat that overwhelms a person witnessing it, we might hear the expression OMG! It doesn't mean that this person is God. However, if we look up the Greek we can see how Thomas made a simliar statement that was much more refining.

Thomas answered and said to him, "You are the Lord of me and the God of me!" (John 20:28 Greek) It was at this precise moment in time, that Thomas realized and was given an epiphany that Jesus is 'the Christ, the Son of the living God.' (Mathew 16:16) In like manner, Moses was God to Aaron and Pharoh. Yet, we all know that Moses is not God.

One should also note that Thomas never asked to see Jesus body but rather his nail prints and his side. Evidently all the disciples and the women alike, had the same account of seeing Jesus in a differnet body, but without wounds. Therefore, this would cause Thomas to doubt that it was Jesus appearing to them and this is why the account reads as it does, “Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails and stick my finger into the print of the nails and stick my hand into his side, I will never believe it.”

Yet, after all these proofs, notice what (John 20:30-31) states. "To be sure, Jesus also performed Many Other Signs before the disciples, which are not written down in this scroll. But these have been written down so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and because of believing, you may have life by means of his Name."

Why not take a Free Bible Online Lesson and see how much you know. Will you accept a Free Home Bible Study today, to continue living on through the Great Tribulation?
